Kalyan is a city in Thane district of Maharashtra and a major railway station lying at the junction of the north-east and south-east lines of the suburban Mumbai division of the Central Railway, 54 km north-east of Mumbai.

    I saw several movie during 1979 to 1981 at Joker Cinema, a very old cinema talkies in Kalyan. I was staying in Mr.C.N.Gopi's flat in Geet Gunjan Housing Socieity (now Sushant Housing Society) next of Joker. There was a Palm Tree in the backyard of Joker Cinema. We used to get toddy from the tree.

    Formerly it was known as Geet Gunjan Housing Society. Late Mr.C.N.Gopi & Mrs. Radha Gopi were tenants (4th floor) since 1979. We could clearly here the dialogues from Joker Cinema. We used to go for second show.
